1. Hand saw, table saw, jog saw, power saw or circular saw - these items will be necessary to cut your tiles to size. If using one of the first two, cut your tile with the decorative side up, and for the others, the decorative side should be down.

2. Spacers - these are tiny blocks about 1/4" thick that need to be placed at the end of your tiles to leave that space between the tile and the wall.

3. Duct tape and blue tape - the duct tape will be useful to attach your underlayment and the blue tape, which is not as strong, is necessary to lay along the edges of the tiles when waiting for the glue to dry.

4. Pull bar - this tool helps you pick up tiles and place them into tight areas. It is especially useful for the last row.

5. Dry cloth - essential to wipe off excess glue.

6. Tapping block - this may be needed to gently tap the tiles into place.

How to Install

1. Measure the area of your room to know how many tiles you will need, especially the width of the last row. For a more beautiful effect, make sure the last tile in the last row is at least 2 inches wide. You have the option here of laying your tiles down straight, with all corners touching, or you can be creative and stagger them as you please.

2. If your subfloor is concrete, lay down the laminate underlayment. The best option is usually the combination foam and film mto provide moisture protection, but there are other options you can choose from.

3. Check all your tiles to be sure they are all in good condition, then lay down the first 2 rows of tiles to see how they look and if they are completely straight. Saw any of them that need to cut to shape with your hand saw and power saw.

4. Use your spacers to leave 1/4" between the last tiles and the wall.

5. Lay it the tiles in the entire room to check for spacing and appearance before gluing anything.

6. When gluing, begin with the first tile in the first row of the left corner of the room. Place the tile upside down, with the decorative part facing the ground, then apply about 1/16 to 1/8" of glue along the groove, using a dry cloth to wipe away any extra glue.

7. Press the tile into place softly, and then place 2-3 pieces of blue plastic tape along the edges. You may need a tapping block to tap the tile into place.

8. Continue with all the tiles in the first 2 rows until they are all glued. Wait about 15-20 minutes before starting the next rows.

9. After about an hour, when the glue is dry, remove the tape.

10. For the last row, your tiles will most likely need to be cut to a smaller size. You may also need the help of the pull bar to place the tiles into their spots and secure them.
